"Difficulty Govern"

Bertolt Brecht, 1937
1.
Every day the ministers say to the people
How difficult to govern. No ministers
Wheat grow down instead of growing up.
Not a lump of coal would come out of the mines
If the Chancellor was not so smart. Without the Minister of Propaganda
No other woman could become pregnant. Without the Minister of War
Never again would be no war. And dare was born the sun
Without the authorization of the Führer?
It's not likely, and if it were
He certainly born out of place.
2.
And also difficult when we are told,
Driving a factory. Without the boss
The walls fall and machines fill up would rust.
If somewhere did a plow
He would never come to the country without
The words warned the industrial the peasants who,
Otherwise, you could talk to them the existence of plowshares? Is that
It would be the rural property without the landowner?
There is no doubt that sow rye to where there were potatoes.
3.
If it were easy rule
There was no need of spirits as enlightened as the Führer.
If the worker knew how to use your machine
And if the peasant knew distinguish a field of a form for pies
There would be no need for bosses or owners.
And just because everyone is so stupid
There is need for some as clever.
4.
Or will
Rule is only so difficult because the exploitation and lies
Are things that cost to learn?
